INGREDIENTS
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 kilos floor turkey, white and darkish mixed
- 2 cups coarsely chopped onions
- 2 tablespoons chopped garlic
- 1 giant candy crimson pepper, cored, deveined and coarsely chopped
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 jalapeno pepper, cored, deveined and finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon recent oregano, chopped, or 1 tablespoon, dried
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons floor cumin
- 3 cups canned diced tomatoes
- 2 cups hen broth, recent or canned
- Salt and freshly floor pepper to style
- 2 15-ounce cans of crimson kidney beans, drained
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup bitter cream (non-compulsory)
- Sliced lime for garnish (non-compulsory)
PREPARATION
- Warmth the oil over excessive warmth in a big heavy pot and add the turkey meat. Cook dinner till evenly browned, about 5 minutes, chopping down and stirring with the aspect of a heavy kitchen spoon to interrupt up any lumps.
- Add the onions, garlic, candy pepper, celery, jalapeno pepper, oregano, bay leaves, chili powder and cumin. Stir to mix properly. Cook dinner for five minutes.
- Add the tomatoes, hen broth, salt and pepper. Deliver to a boil, scale back warmth and simmer, stirring often, for quarter-hour.
- Add the drained beans and cook dinner, stirring often, for 10 minutes longer. Serve in bowls with cheddar cheese, and bitter cream and lime wedges, if desired.
